State Farm Slam Dunk Championship Brings Down the House in Phonenix

Phoenix (March 30, 2017) – Iowa’s Peter Jok, Kansas State’s Kindred Wesemann and Georgetown’s Rodney Pryor tonight won their respective events at the 2017 State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships. The 29th annual event featured 24 of the nation’s top college basketball players entertaining a sold out crowd of 7,000 people at Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix. The program was broadcast live on ESPN.

Arizona Cardinals legend Kurt Warner, current Arizona Cardinals Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson, former Phoenix Sun and current Grand Canyon University Head Coach Dan Majerle, and college basketball legend and current ESPN personality Jay Williams judged the Denny’s Slam Dunk Championship.

Shoe Carnival Battle of the Champions

For the third consecutive year, the Women’s 3-Point roster represented well by winning the Shoe Carnival 3-Point Battle of Champions. Wesemann and Jok tied with scores of 18 but Wesemann was declared the winner by the tiebreaker of having a better best ball rack of five makes vs. Jok’s best ball rack of four makes.
